Terms of Service
Last updated: October 16, 2026
1. Agreement
Grabient is a personal project. These terms are an agreement between you and the person who runs it ("Grabient," "we," "us") about your use of grabient.com, its API, its MCP server and its other pages (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. The Service
Grabient is a free tool for making, finding and exporting color palettes. Because it is a personal project, features may change, break or go away. We may change, suspend or stop any part of the Service at any time, without notice.
3. Accounts
- You must be at least 13 to make an account, or older where your country's law requires.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account, including keeping your email and Google account secure.
- An AI app you connect through the MCP server acts for you, and you are responsible for what it does. You can disconnect it at any time.
- An account comes with the Grabient newsletter, sent to your email address about once a month. Since these terms took effect, an account made where your consent is needed first, such as in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, starts without it, and you can turn it on in Settings. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms or harms the Service.
4. Palettes and exports
- Palettes are colors. Anyone can make the same palette, and saving one gives no one ownership of it.
- You may use any palette on Grabient, and anything you export from it, for any lawful purpose, personal or commercial, free of charge. You don't need to credit Grabient.
- Saving a palette adds it to the public gallery. We decide what appears in the gallery and in collections, and we may remove anything at any time.
5. Your content
Your content is anything you write or upload, such as your username, avatar, collection titles and messages to us. You keep the rights you have in it, and you give us permission to store, copy and show it as needed to run the Service.
Don't post anything that breaks the law or infringes someone's rights, harasses or threatens anyone, is hateful or sexually explicit, impersonates someone, or contains spam, malware or other people's personal information. If you send us feedback, we may use it without any obligation to you.
6. Acceptable use
Don't access accounts or systems that aren't yours, disrupt or overload the Service, get around its rate limits or security, or use it to deceive people, including by suggesting that Grabient endorses you.
Programs are welcome. Search engines, AI agents and other tools may read public pages as robots.txt allows, and may use the API and MCP server described in llms.txt, within the rate limits and with a user agent that honestly identifies them. The API and MCP server are free and may change or stop. We may block any traffic that harms the Service.
7. Source code and names
Grabient's source code is on GitHub under the Apache License 2.0, which governs your use of the code. That license doesn't let you use the Grabient name or logo for your own site or product.
Collections and palette titles sometimes name a team, a game, a brand or a place to describe its colors. Those names belong to their owners, who have no connection with Grabient and don't endorse it.
8. Other websites
Links to other websites and services, such as sign-in with Google, are there for convenience. Their own terms and policies apply, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Disclaimer
THE SERVICE, THE PALETTES AND EVERYTHING YOU EXPORT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE AVAILABLE, SECURE OR FREE OF ERRORS, OR THAT ANYTHING YOU SAVE WILL BE KEPT.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ABOUT THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO $50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you live in the EU or the UK, you keep all the rights your consumer law gives you.
11. Indemnity
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you submitted or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, including legal fees, where your local law allows.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We post the new version here with a new date, and if a change is significant we also say so on the site. If you keep using the Service after a change, the new terms apply to you.
13. General
- If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- These terms are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
- We may transfer these terms to whoever takes over Grabient.
- Sections 9 to 11 still apply after you stop using the Service.
14. Contact
For questions, or to report content that breaks the law or infringes your rights, email hello@grabient.com or use the contact form.
